- Layer chopped lettuce, chopped celery, chopped green pepper, chopped onion, and drained peas in a 9 x 13-inch serving dish in that order.
- Sprinkle with garlic salt and spread mayonnaise evenly over the top.
- Cover tightly with plastic wrap and chill for 4 to 6 hours.
- Before serving, sprinkle additional crumbled bacon or bacon bits on top.
- Add grated hard-boiled eggs before serving.
