Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt in a pan.
  2. Add enough water to make a smooth paste.
  3. Beat in egg yolks.
  4. Add remaining water, milk, vanilla, and butter.
  5. Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
  6. Pour into a baked pie shell.
  7. Cover with meringue and bake until golden.
