Northern Comfort is a rich, creamy frozen dessert layered with chocolate syrup and coffee flavor, perfect for those craving a decadent treat or a nostalgic homemade delight.

Ingredients

  • 2 pt. heavy cream
  • 1 c. thick chocolate syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. instant coffee
  • 1 Tbsp. rum or 1 tsp. rum extract
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 box cinnamon grahams

Instructions

  1. Chill the beater and bowl containing all ingredients except the grahams.
  2. Whip the mixture until well combined and slightly thickened.
  3. Line a 5 x 9-inch loaf pan with strips of waxed paper.
  4. Coat the bottom and sides of the pan with a 1/2-inch layer of the cream mixture.
  5. Alternate layers of grahams and the cream mixture, ending with the cream on top.
  6. Freeze the assembled dessert.
  7. Can be double-wrapped and frozen for up to a month.
  8. Before serving, refrigerate the frozen dessert overnight after turning out onto a serving dish and peeling off the waxed paper.
  9. Slice into 1-inch slices to serve.
