Ingredients

  • 8 medium baking apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup Pecan Meal
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples without peeling.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, water, and butter.
  3. Heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. In a bowl, thoroughly mix Pecan Meal, brown sugar, cinnamon, and egg to make the filling.
  5. Place the apples in a baking dish and spoon the filling into each apple until two-thirds full.
  6. Pour the syrup over the filled apples until the cavities are filled.
  7. Pour 1/2 cup water around the apples in the baking dish.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
