Ingredients

  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 sq. chocolate

Instructions

  1. Mix bread crumbs, scalded milk, butter, chopped nuts, salt, egg yolks, sugar, melted chocolate, and lemon juice and rind in a bowl.
  2. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites gently.
  3. Pour the mixture into a buttered mold.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven for about 25 minutes.
