Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines brownie mix
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine brownie mix, egg yolks, and water; stir until smooth.
  2. Spread the batter evenly in an 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Sprinkle coconut and chopped nuts over the batter.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with brown sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Pour the egg white mixture over the coconut and nuts.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 45 minutes (8 x 8-inch) or 25 to 35 minutes (9 x 9-inch).
  7. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
