Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3/4 cup salad oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 8-ounce cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, soda, vinegar, salad oil, vanilla, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, eggs, and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add coconut, chocolate chips, and nuts to the cream cheese mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan.
  7. Top with the remaining cake batter.
  8. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
