Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, measure all ingredients.
  3. Mix at low speed until blended.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Cool the gingerbread.
  7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
