Nutty Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar ( I cut it down)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp. poppy seeds
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Combine the first 9 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir well to blend. Beat egg, buttermilk and oil and add to dry ingredients. Stir till moistened. Pour batter into greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  2. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes or till toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn out to cool.
