Ingredients

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup All-Bran
  • 1 Tbsp shortening
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 package dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Pour 3 cups boiling water over the oatmeal and All-Bran; stir and let stand until lukewarm.
  2. Add dry yeast and enough white flour to make a stiff dough.
  3. Let the dough rise until double in size.
  4. Knead down the dough and let it rise again.
  5. Place the dough in two greased loaf pans.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
