- Peel and slice the apples into a buttered electric skillet.
- Sprinkle the apples with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water, and cinnamon.
- Combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar with softened butter to make a creamed mixture.
- In a separate bowl, add and combine the remaining ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, egg, and milk to form a pouring batter.
- Pour the batter over the apples in the skillet.
- Do not stir. Cover and bake at 225°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
