Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 10 slices raisin bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix all the ingredients, except the bread and 1/2 cup of sugar.
  3. Place the mixture in a 2-quart square glass pan.
  4. Place this pan on a large 9 x 13-inch metal pan.
  5. Fill the metal pan with hot water so that it comes up about halfway up the glass pan.
  6. Bake for one hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
