Old Time Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp. wheat germ

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sprinkle sugar over apples.
  2. Let stand 30 minutes or until juicy.
  3. Stir in eggs, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and 3 tablespoons wheat germ until well blended.
  4. Turn into 8-inch square baking pan.
  5. Sprinkle with remaining wheat germ.
  6. Bake in 375° oven 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Cool on rack or serve warm.
