Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 large Bermuda onions
  • 1/2 lb. Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cook sliced Bermuda onions in butter, covered, over low heat for 30 minutes until softened.
  2. Spoon the cooked onions into a baking dish.
  3. Spread grated Parmesan cheese over the onions and sprinkle with pepper.
  4. Heat the cream of chicken soup and milk together in a skillet, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the soup mixture over the onions and cheese.
  6. Gently stir to combine.
  7. Arrange slices of French bread in a ring on top of the casserole.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes until the bread is toasted and the sauce is bubbly hot.
