Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 large onions, peeled and sliced in rounds
  • 1 stick butter or Parkay
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • crushed Ritz crackers

Instructions

  1. Boil onions in a saucepan for a few minutes until transparent; drain well.
  2. Place the drained onions in a glass casserole dish.
  3. Dot the onions with butter.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Crush Ritz crackers and sprinkle over the top of the onions.
  6. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese over the crackers.
  7. Cover the casserole dish.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour until bubbly and golden.
