Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 4 or 5 c. nuts
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
  • 2 c. white raisins

Instructions

  1. Reserve 1 cup of flour to coat the nuts and raisins.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in vanilla and lemon flavoring.
  5. Combine the remaining flour with baking powder and gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in the nuts and white raisins, coated with the reserved flour.
  7. Pour batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
