Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package corn muffin or cornbread mix
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp process cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook chopped onion in butter until tender, but not brown.
  2. Prepare corn muffin or cornbread mix according to package directions.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked onion over the batter.
  5. Mix sour cream and shredded cheese; spoon over the top.
  6. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until done.
  7. Let stand a few minutes and then cut into 9 squares.
