Onion Turnovers
Golden onion turnovers feature sautéed sweet Spanish onions and Parmesan cheese encased in flaky pastry, perfect as appetizers or snacks for gatherings and flavorful bites.

- In a bowl, sift flour and 1 teaspoon salt.
- Cut in 3 tablespoons oil and gradually add the water, mixing thoroughly.
- Add a little flour if necessary until the dough does not stick to the bowl. Set aside.
- Heat 1/4 cup oil in a frying pan and sauté sliced onions until golden.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Roll the dough on a lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into 4-inch squares.
- Place 1 tablespoon of sautéed onions and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese in the center of each square.
- Moisten the edges of the pastry, fold opposite corners together to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal.
