Ingredients

  • 3 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 heaping tablespoons cornmeal

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9 x 13-inch (deep) pan.
  3. Melt butter in the microwave in a large bowl.
  4. Mix milk and eggs in a separate bowl.
  5. Add the milk and eggs mixture to the cooled melted butter.
  6. Add dry ingredients—Bisquick, sugar, baking soda, and cornmeal—to the wet mixture.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
