Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/3 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons grated orange peel

Instructions

  1. Cut the thawed bread dough into 16 equal pieces; shape each piece into a ball.
  2. Place the dough balls on a floured surface and cover; let rest for 10 minutes.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix the flaked coconut, granulated sugar, and grated orange peel.
  4. Using two spoons, roll each dough ball in melted butter, then in the coconut mixture to coat all sides.
  5. Arrange the coated dough balls loosely in two layers in a greased tube pan.
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bubble bread in the center of the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Immediately invert the baked bread onto a rack and then turn it top side up to serve.
