Orange Pork Ragout

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork loin, cubed
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 cup red bell pepper
  • 1 cup green bell pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 12 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 14 cup cold water
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 cups cooked rice, kept warm

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except cornstarch, water, salt, pepper and rice in a slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. Turn heat to high and cook 10 minutes.
  4. Combine cornstarch and water.
  5. Stir into stew.
  6. 2-3 more minutes.
  7. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve over rice.
