Ingredients

  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
  5. Beat in egg yolks one at a time.
  6. Stir in grated orange peel and chopped walnuts.
  7. Add one-third of the dry ingredients and half of the sour cream, then beat well.
  8. Add remaining dry ingredients and remaining sour cream, then beat until combined.
  9. Fold in beaten egg whites gently.
  10. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
