Ingredients

  • 28 Oreo cookies
  • 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 1/2 gallon coffee ice cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk (5 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 (1 oz.) squares semi-sweet chocolate
  • 6 tablespoons margarine

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreo cookies and mix with melted margarine.
  2. Press the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan and freeze.
  3. Soften the coffee ice cream and spread it over the crust, then freeze again.
  4. Combine sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla, chopped semi-sweet chocolate, and margarine in a saucepan.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.
  7. Pour the chocolate mixture over the ice cream layer and re-freeze.
  8. Mix Cool Whip with chopped nuts and spread over the chocolate layer. Keep frozen until ready to serve.
