- Mix the yellow cake mix as directed and pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake the cake in the preheated oven according to the package instructions.
- Bring crushed pineapple and sugar to a boil in a saucepan, stirring constantly.
- Let the pineapple mixture cool slightly.
- Poke holes in the top of the baked cake using a fork or skewer.
- Pour the pineapple mixture over the top of the cake and let it stand for 15 minutes to soak in.
- Prepare the vanilla pudding as directed on the package.
- Spread the prepared pudding evenly over the pineapple layer.
