Ingredients

  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. flour, heaped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. raw apples, diced
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix the egg and sugar thoroughly in a bowl.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, diced apples, chopped nuts, and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased shallow pan.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven and cut into 2-inch squares.
  7. Serve warm with whipped cream or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
