Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Soften margarine in the microwave and add sugar.
  2. Add eggs to the mixture.
  3. Mix extract into the milk.
  4. Add flour and milk to the margarine and sugar mixture alternately, beginning and ending with the flour.
  5. Pour batter into a 9 x 12-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Top with strawberries or peaches before serving.
