Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 heaping tablespoons flour
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chicken broth
  • 1 skinned and boned chicken
  • cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook milk, flour, egg, salt, and pepper together until thickened like custard.
  2. Place a layer of skinned and boned chicken in a baking dish.
  3. Pour a layer of the cooked custard over the chicken.
  4. Repeat layering with chicken and custard as needed.
  5. Mix cracker crumbs with melted margarine.
  6. Sprinkle the cracker crumb mixture on top of the layered chicken.
  7. Dot the top with additional margarine.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until golden and cooked through.
