Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups self-rising flour

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add eggs, beating well after each addition.
  3. Alternately add milk and self-rising flour, mixing until smooth.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Spoon about 1/2 cup of batter into round pans.
  6. Bake until golden brown, approximately 15 minutes per layer.
  7. Allow layers to cool before assembling and icing.
