Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger and pork sausage in a skillet.
  2. Pour off the grease from the cooked meats.
  3. Add Velveeta cheese to the meat mixture and melt.
  4. Stir in oregano, garlic salt, salt, and pepper to season.
  5. Spread the meat and cheese mixture onto party rye bread slices.
  6. Place the prepared sandwiches in a 350°F oven and warm until heated through.
  7. For freezing, first freeze the sandwiches on cookie sheets, then transfer into bags for storage.
