Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (3 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to package instructions and pour into a 9 x 13-inch glass pan.
  2. Bake the cake and let it cool slightly after baking.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the crushed pineapple with its juice and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is melted.
  4. While the cake is still hot, use a fork to punch holes all over the cake.
  5. Spread the cooked pineapple mixture evenly over the hot cake.
  6. Chill the cake with a cover until fully cooled and set.
  7. Once chilled, spread the vanilla instant pudding over the top.
  8. Top with Cool Whip before serving.
