Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour (heaping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons boiling water

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat until stiff enough to stand in peaks.
  2. Place mixture on a well-greased slide or ovenproof plate and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  3. Then, turn the oven down to 230°F (110°C) and bake for an additional 1 hour.
  4. Leave the Pavlova in the oven to cool completely.
  5. Decorate with whipped cream and fruit before serving.
