- Cream the butter until smooth.
- Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add egg yolks and blend well.
- Gradually add flour and mix well.
- Fold in chopped nuts.
- Put half of the batter in a greased 8-inch square pan and spread evenly.
- Spread apricot filling over the batter.
- Cover with the remaining batter and smooth the top.
- Bake in a 325°F (160°C) oven for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- Cut into inch square pieces.
- Optional: sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
- Store in a tight container.
