Juicy pork chops are elevated with a flavorful cider and apple sauce, perfect for hearty family dinners or entertaining guests with a comforting yet sophisticated dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 pint cider
  • 2 cooking apples
  • pinch of mixed herbs
  • 1 teaspoon made mustard
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 ounces butter

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the pork chops on both sides until browned.
  2. Remove the chops from the pan and spread mustard on one side of each chop.
  3. Keep the pork chops warm.
  4. In the remaining butter and juices, fry the chopped onion until translucent.
  5. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add the mixed herbs and cider, then cook until the sauce thickens.
  7. Arrange sliced apples in a casserole dish and pour the sauce over them.
  8. Place the pork chops on top of the apples and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (Gas Mark 4) for 25 minutes.
