Ingredients

  • 9 to 10 ripe sweet peaches
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a sifter and sift into a bowl.
  2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Peel and slice peaches and arrange in a buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the peaches.
  5. Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
