- Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with 2 tablespoons butter or oleo.
- Sprinkle the bottom with brown sugar.
- Drain the peach halves and arrange them on top of the brown sugar.
- In a bowl, stir together biscuit mix, sour cream, 2 tablespoons melted butter or oleo, sugar, allspice, unbeaten egg, orange peel, and nuts until just blended.
- Beat the mixture well for about 30 seconds.
- Spread the batter evenly over the peaches.
- Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes or until tests done.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.
- Store in a metal cake tin.
