Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or oleo
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 (29 oz.) can cling peach halves
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel

Instructions

  1. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with 2 tablespoons butter or oleo.
  2. Sprinkle the bottom with brown sugar.
  3. Drain the peach halves and arrange them on top of the brown sugar.
  4. In a bowl, stir together biscuit mix, sour cream, 2 tablespoons melted butter or oleo, sugar, allspice, unbeaten egg, orange peel, and nuts until just blended.
  5. Beat the mixture well for about 30 seconds.
  6. Spread the batter evenly over the peaches.
  7. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes or until tests done.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.
  9. Store in a metal cake tin.
