Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4 or 5 small tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • dash black pepper
  • 6 oz spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Crush the garlic clove with the salt.
  2. Scald the tomatoes, peel them, and cut into sections.
  3. Wash and chop the basil.
  4. Add water, olive oil, and a dash of black pepper to a pan and cook briefly.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about an hour to let flavors meld.
  6. Cook the spaghetti al dente according to package instructions.
  7. Drain the spaghetti and add the tomato mixture.
  8. Serve in a soup bowl.
