Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter or oleo, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 (10 oz.) container pitted dates, chopped
  • 1 cup pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, with a wire whisk or fork, beat eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter or oleo, vanilla extract, and salt until blended.
  3. Stir in chopped dates.
  4. Pour mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
  5. Arrange pecans on top of the filling.
  6. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until set.
