Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag corn chips
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces kidney beans or 15 ounces chili beans, with liquid

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef, onion and garlic.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano and chili powder.
  3. Grease a 1 1/2 qt casserole.
  4. Alternate layers of beans, meat mixture and corn chips; end with corn chips.
  5. Bake covered at 350°F for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes.
  6. Before serving garnish with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and grated cheese.
