- In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes and onions.
- Mix the melted butter with salt, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and pepper; drizzle over the potatoes and onions. Toss to coat evenly.
- Place half of the coated potatoes and onions in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
- Top with the remaining potatoes and onions, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
