Ingredients

  • 2 lb. pickling cucumbers
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. distilled white vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. snipped fresh dill
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. coarse salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine water, vinegar, sugar, dill, garlic, and salt.
  2. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
  3. Fit cucumbers into 2 (1-quart) jars.
  4. Pour in enough of the vinegar mixture to cover the cucumbers.
  5. Tighten the lids and refrigerate for at least 1 week before serving to develop flavor.
  6. These pickles can be kept refrigerated for up to 3 months.
