Ingredients

  • 4 oz. pkg. codfish, shredded
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 small Maui onions, sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced

Instructions

  1. Soak the codfish in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Boil the codfish to soften for 5 to 10 minutes, then drain.
  3. Combine the rice vinegar, water, sugar, and vegetable oil in a bowl.
  4. Add the drained codfish to this sauce.
  5. Add the sliced onions and tomato to the mixture.
  6. Chill the dish for 1 hour before serving.
