- Drain 1 quart of kosher pickles and cut them in half lengthwise.
- Return the pickles to the jar.
- Add remaining ingredients: sugar, onion, celery seed, vinegar, and horseradish.
- Shake the jar occasionally until all the sugar is dissolved.
- Leave the pickles to marinate overnight before eating.
