Ingredients

  • 100 walnuts
  • salt
  • water
  • vinegar
  • 2 ounces whole black pepper
  • 1 ounce allspice
  • 1 ounce ginger

Instructions

  1. Allow 2 ounces of whole black pepper, 1 ounce of allspice, and 1 ounce of ginger for each quart of vinegar.
  2. Prepare a brine by dissolving salt in water and soaking the walnuts.
  3. Combine the vinegar with the specified spices: black pepper, allspice, and ginger.
  4. Add the walnuts to the spiced vinegar mixture and let them pickle for several weeks before using.
