  1. Butter both sides of the bread slice.
  2. Cut out the center of the bread slice using a round cookie cutter.
  3. Heat a griddle over medium heat.
  4. Place the bread slice on the griddle.
  5. Crack eggs and pour into the hole in the bread slice.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook until the bread is browned, then flip and brown the other side.
  8. Remove when the egg is cooked to desired doneness.
