Ingredients

  • 16 oz. large lima beans
  • 1 lb. smoked ham hocks
  • 1 lb. sparerib tips
  • 1 green pepper
  • 16 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the lima beans for 30 minutes.
  2. Wash the smoked ham hocks and sparerib tips; cook them in a separate pot until tender.
  3. Add the cooked meat, green pepper, tomato sauce, black pepper, and salt to the soaked lima beans.
  4. Season to taste and cook for 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Cook the meat in a separate pot until tender, then add to the lima beans.
  6. Cook the combined mixture for an additional 30 minutes.
