Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2/3 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1/4 c. minced green pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp.
  2. Dice or crumble bacon and reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  3. Combine the reserved bacon drippings with vinegar, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
  4. Toss shredded cabbage with minced onion, minced green pepper, and chopped celery.
  5. Add the dressing to the cabbage mixture just before serving.
  6. Garnish the salad with bacon bits.
