Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups pintos
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • salt
  • meat grease

Instructions

  1. Cook pintos until about half done; drain water off.
  2. Mix pintos with flour, cornmeal, and soda.
  3. Mold the mixture into baseball-sized balls.
  4. Place the balls into boiling water.
  5. Cook slowly for about 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from water.
  7. Cut open, pour meat grease over them, and add salt to taste.
