Ingredients

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 4 cups broccoli flowerets
  • 4 cups cauliflower
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweet red pepper
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, and celery seed in a saucepan and bring to a boil until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  3. In a large bowl, combine broccoli flowerets, cauliflower, shredded carrot, chopped green pepper, chopped red pepper, and chopped onion.
  4. Pour the cooled vinegar mixture over the vegetables and stir well.
  5. Refrigerate the salad until chilled before serving.
