Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 pound chilled salted butter
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 4 teaspoons vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, put the flour.
  2. Cut in the chilled salted butter and vegetable shortening.
  3. Cut until the fat is about pea-sized.
  4. Add spoonfuls of the vinegar mixed with ice water gradually.
  5. Gather the dough into a ball.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 balls.
  7. Refrigerate the dough balls.
