Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 1/2 cups white flour

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and sweetener; let stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Add salt, whole wheat flour, white flour, and oil to the yeast mixture; mix for 5 minutes.
  3. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal sections.
  5. Roll each section into a flat round.
  6. Let the rolled dough rise for 20 minutes.
  7. Place on a wire mesh in the oven and bake at 475°F (246°C) for 5 minutes.
